Betting and Game Rules

These rules explain how bets, spins and rounds are placed and settled on our site, and what happens when a game or a connection fails part way through. They apply alongside our Terms & Conditions and the rules built into each individual game.

General rules for every bet you place

You may hold one account with us, in your own name, and you must be 18 or over to place a bet. All play is funded from the balances shown in your account: your real-money balance and, where you have taken part in a promotion, your bonus balance.

A bet, spin or round is placed at the moment you confirm it in the game and the stake leaves your balance. Once that happens the bet stands and cannot be changed, cancelled or taken back, whatever the result.

  • You must place bets yourself, for yourself, from the account you are logged in to. Automated software, bots and shared or syndicated play are not permitted.
  • Stakes are taken from your real-money balance first unless the game or the promotion states otherwise, and the cashier shows which balance a round is being played from.
  • Minimum and maximum stakes differ from game to game and are shown in the game, or at the table, before you play.
  • We hold a gaming licence for the games we offer and we carry out identity and age verification on accounts.

Set your limits before you play

Deposit limits, loss limits, session reminders, time-outs and self-exclusion are all available in the safer gambling area of your account, and they take effect before any further bet is placed. Free, confidential help is available from GambleAware, GamCare and the National Gambling Helpline, and GamStop lets you block yourself from online gambling sites in a single request.

How bets and spins are settled

Every game runs on the game server, not on your device. The outcome recorded on that server is the outcome of the round, and it is what we use to settle your bet and update your balance. Where the screen in front of you and the server record do not agree, the server record stands.

Each game also carries its own rules, paytable and return-to-player figure, which you can open from the game's help or information screen at any time. Those rules decide what counts as a win, how lines, ways or clusters pay, and how features are triggered.

  1. The stake is taken from your balance when you confirm the round.
  2. The server generates and records the outcome of that round.
  3. Any win is calculated from the paytable in force when the round was played and credited to the balance the stake came from, and the round then appears in your history.

The return-to-player figure shown in each game is a long-term average measured across a very large number of rounds. It does not predict the result of any single spin, hand or round, and it is not a promise of a return over a session.

Malfunctions and interrupted rounds

A malfunction is any fault in a game, in the game server or in the link between them that stops a round being played or settled as the game's own rules provide.

A malfunction voids all pays and play

If a game malfunctions, all pays and play for the affected round are void. Any stake taken for that round is returned to the balance it came from, and any amount credited in error is removed from your account.

Losing your connection is not a malfunction. If your connection drops part way through a round, log back in and open the same game from the same account. An unfinished round either resumes at the point it stopped or is settled on the server using the outcome already recorded, and the result is shown in your game history.

  • Free spins and feature rounds held on the server remain available until they are played or until they expire under the game's own rules.
  • Balances can take a short time to update after a disconnection, so check your transaction history before placing further bets.
  • Do not place the same bet a second time if you are not sure whether the first one was accepted.

Bets funded from bonus money

Bonus funds, free spins and other promotional credits are played under the terms of the promotion they came from. Those terms apply in addition to these rules, and they apply to the whole of the play funded by that bonus.

  • Maximum stake. While a wagering requirement is open, you may not stake more per round than the maximum bet set out in the promotion terms.
  • Game contributions. Games count towards wagering at different rates and some are excluded altogether. The rates are listed with the promotion.
  • Which balance plays. Where you hold both real-money and bonus funds, the cashier shows which balance the next round will be staked from.
  • Breach. Rounds placed above the maximum stake, or on excluded games, may be void together with any winnings arising from them.

Where a promotion's terms and this page deal with the same point, the promotion's terms apply to play funded by that bonus. Everything else on this page still applies as normal.

Live casino and table games

Live tables are dealt by a dealer in a studio and streamed to your device. The dealer runs the table, and the way play unfolds at the table is what settles the round for every seated player.

  • Bets must be confirmed within the betting time shown at the table. A bet that is not confirmed before betting closes is not placed, and the stake stays in your balance.
  • Chips placed but not confirmed, and bets that reach the server after betting has closed, do not stand.
  • The dealer's call, the cards dealt and the pocket the ball settles in decide the round. Where a card or wheel outcome is unclear, the table's own procedure for a misdeal or a void spin applies.
  • Each table has its own help screen covering payouts, side bets, insurance, splitting, surrender and any seat rules.
  • Table limits are shown before you take a seat and can differ between tables of the same game. If you are inactive for the period stated at the table, you may lose your seat.

If you disagree with how a round was settled

If you think a bet has been settled wrongly, contact us as soon as you can and we will check what you tell us against the server record of the round.

  1. The name of the game or live table.
  2. The date and time of the round, in the time zone shown in your account.
  3. The round or game ID from the game history or your transaction history.
  4. Your stake, the outcome you saw and the outcome you expected.
  5. A screenshot of the round, if you have one.

Send those details to support@casinoregal.co.uk, or give them to us on the live chat on the site. We will confirm that we have your message, check the server record of the round with the game supplier where that is needed, and give you our answer in writing. If you are not satisfied with that answer, our Complaints Policy explains how to take the matter further, including to the alternative dispute resolution provider named there.

Until a dispute is settled, the server record of the round stands and your balance stays as shown in your account.
